Fears and Phobias Hypnotherapy Sessions

fears and phobias.png with kimberley stapleton mind body soul spirit

Use hypnotherapy to update your unconscious mind to overcome old anxieties

It's good to know that you can easily overcome fears and phobias with hypnotherapy, because such anxieties are extremely common. More than 10% of people will experience a simple phobia at some time in their lives. From elevators, spiders and birds, to heights, dentists and open spaces, there is nothing we can't develop anxiety or phobias about.

But you're not doomed to be stuck with them forever.

Happily, hypnotherapy provides an extremely effective cure for these problems as it provides the opposite of anxiety - deep relaxation. At the same time, it teaches the mind a different way of responding to the feared object or situation. Hypnotherapy for phobias works by detaching the stimulus (trigger object) from the emotional response (fear) and 'updating' the brain with a new, more realistic response.

How to Live in the Moment

live-moment.jpg

Update your unconscious patterns to focus on what's happening right now

Do you know how to live in the moment?

Does it feel like a long time since you last stood still and lost yourself in a beautiful sunset, or watching kids play in the park?

Is your life too full of worries for you to 'justify' such pointless activities? Do you bow to the cultural mantra that says if you're not doing something useful you're useless?

The real meaning of living in the moment

'Living in the moment' is an expression we've all heard, but what does it mean, exactly? You may think of it as something that 'enlightened' people do, Zen Buddhists and hermits, for instance. Not ordinary people, who have to get on with the nitty-gritty and earn their daily bread and make a success of their lives.

When you live in the moment, you allow yourself to experience life directly. You notice what is in front of you, right now. You see the colours. You hear the sounds. You smell the scents - or stinks! Your senses are open to the world without value judgement. When you live in the moment, the question 'Will this get me a promotion?' suddenly stops being so important.

It is your right to be able live in the moment

The fact is, we have all experienced what it is to live in the moment. Because we have all been young children, lost in wonder at the amazing world around us, utterly unconcerned with what we are going to get out of it.

And this ability to see the world with fresh eyes is a resource which we lose at our peril. If we allow ourselves to become trapped in routine ideas and routine behaviours, we lose flexibility and adaptability. And we risk becoming exhausted and burnt out.

You can recover your power to live in the moment

Steps for Letting Go of Fear and Trusting More

PAFF_040118_helpingothers-609x419.jpg

Don’t let fear stop you from achieving everything you want out of life.

Everything that you do and the choices that you make each day determines who you are and the experiences you get from life. If you make these decisions out of fear, you will likely make poor decisions. The following seven steps will help you trust yourself more and stop letting fear take over your life:

Step 1: Start

Take a moment to make the commitment to let go of your fears and insecurities. Write your promise down for future reference. Once you do that, create a plan of action for yourself. Don’t expect yourself to just change when overwhelming moments arise. Instead, use your action plan to help you make changes.

Step 2: Forgive Yourself

As a living and breathing normal human, you are always going to make mistakes. In fact, if you don’t, you likely won’t grow or learn much as a person. Be prepared for these moments, and give yourself time to forgive yourself. Truly forgive yourself and know that this is only normal and a basic function in life.

Step 3: Learn to Love & Believe in Yourself

Actively do things to discover your likes and dislikes to learn who you are. The more you understand yourself, the more you can learn to love yourself and truly believe that you can accomplish anything.

Step 4: Listen More

Listen to yourself, but most importantly, to those around you. Make sure you are still taking the time to notice information people give and show you.

Step 5: Feel More Even Fear

In other words, go with the flow. Even when you are scared, if your life or health isn’t in jeopardy, it is essential to feel the emotions to overcome the fear. Getting beyond your comfort zone allows you to build and grow and understand yourself fully. You will see it isn’t so scary once you do it, too, and will eventually develop a full understanding of oneself and feel accomplished.

Step 6: Understand Your Feelings

If you find yourself holding back and feeling fear, truly figure out the parts that make you feel this way. If its meeting new people, what about that makes you scared. Is it because they won’t like you or judge you? What are the consequences, and isn’t all that big of a deal if you take the time to think about it? You just might see that ultimately the consequences are worth the risk.

Step 7: Only Control What You Know, Not the Unknown

Unfortunately, predicting the future isn’t possible. However, you can set up good habits or do things that lead you to success. While there is no sure-fire way to determine that everything you do will be right. One day, this may be challenged; however, that is the beauty of life. Stop wasting your time thinking about what may or may not happen. Focus on the now. You only have this very moment, so use it wisely.

If you keep following these seven steps and one day, you will see how much easier life can truly be just by simply letting go and trusting yourself.

Please contact Me, Kimberley, if you have any questions or to make an initial CONSULTATION.

How to Overcome Anticipatory Anxiety

a anxiety.jpg

Calm down your worries about future events with Hypnotherapy

Is most of your worrying just anticipatory anxiety about the future, rather than concerns about what's actually going on now?

Do you get eaten up with dread about upcoming events and how they will turn out?

Your ability to imagine a goal in life, and to work out detailed plans to deal with obstacles, is a truly valuable resource. Deciding what you'll do if things go wrong is key to effective planning. It would be downright silly to assume everything will always go smoothly. Flights will be delayed, rain will fall on garden parties, people will forget what they were going to say, tomato sauce will get spilled over you...

It happens to everyone.

Too much thinking leads to anticipatory anxiety

The trouble is, when you spend too much time thinking too closely about everything that could go wrong, the famous mind-body connection goes into overdrive. Your worrying thoughts can trigger the actual physical emotions that would accompany those unfortunate events. Your heart rate rises, adrenaline floods into your bloodstream, and your body gets ready to face what it believes is a real and present danger.

When really it's all in your imagination.

Now obviously, it doesn't make sense to say you should just stop preparing for future events, and planning for negative eventualities, altogether. That would be likely to bring you some perfectly real (as opposed to imaginary!) difficulties.

What's needed is a way to think about eventualities (good or bad) calmly. A way to calm down any emotional response that gets triggered, so you can stay detached, make sensible plans, and then get on with your life.

And Hypnotherapy is a brilliant way for you to do just that.

Hypnosis can help you calm down unnecessary fears

  • find yourself becoming much more relaxed about life in general

  • learn how to take command of your emotional responses

  • become more and more skilled at calming and quieting troubling thoughts

  • are no longer at the mercy of unpleasant emotions

  • can think much more clearly and effectively about helpful ways to prepare for upcoming events

  • enjoy life so much more.

If You feel that Hypnotherapy can help you overcome your Anxiety, then

Please contact Me if you have any questions or to make an initial CONSULTATION.

Stop Putting People on a Pedestal

hypnotherapy malta

Let hypnosis help you connect more naturally with others and put yourself on the same level as others

Do you have a tendency to idealise people?

Do you often feel inferior to people who have qualities you admire?

We all idealise people from time to time. As an obvious example, you can probably think of a teenage crush who, in your lovestruck eyes, could do no wrong. (Of course, later in life you likely came to realise just how distorted your view of that person really was!)

There's nothing wrong with putting people on a pedestal from time to time. It's good to recognize qualities we respect and admire in others, as it can help us shape our own personal beliefs and values, and inspire us to better ourselves. The problem arises when we magnify those qualities to an unrealistic degree.

When we see others as superior, we necessarily see ourselves as inferior, which creates an unfair and harmful self-image. Not only that, it can also be uncomfortable for the person on the pedestal, who may worry that they can't live up to the standard you've set for them. Most importantly, it creates a sense of distance that quashes any chance of real human connection.

We are all just human beings

When we put someone on a pedestal, we fail to recognise that their strengths are offset by plenty of weaknesses, too. To genuinely connect with others, it is critical to realise this. We can learn to see and accept all of a person - the good and the bad, the unique and the ordinary. We can nurture the understanding that we are all just human beings, each of us with the same intrinsic value and worth.

That's what this session is going to help you to do: to see people as they really are. To break free of the habit of magnifying people's strengths, while ignoring their weaknesses. You can still look up to people you admire, and you can even put people on a pedestal now and then. But you'll recognize this for the distorted view that it is, knowing that in reality they are no better than you or anyone else.

Overcome Fear You've Done Something Wrong

done-wrong.jpg

Learn to distance yourself from the doubt and focus on more productive things

Do you spend an inordinate amount of time wondering whether you've made some kind of terrible mistake?

Are you constantly plagued by doubt?

Maybe you're pouring over something you said to a friend, wondering if they took offence. Perhaps you're concerned that client took their business elsewhere because of something you did. Or maybe you can't stop thinking about that red light you may or may not have accidentally run. Regardless of what it is you're obsessing over, fear you've done something wrong is never fun.

Thinking back over our actions and checking for errors is a natural and, in moderation, useful part of being human. But, like most things in life, when we do this to excess it can start to cause problems. Recurrent, intrusive doubts can cause guilt and anxiety, and leave us constantly seeking reassurance.

So what can you do to help divert your mind away from these frustrating and fruitless thoughts?

A strategy for driving out doubt

First, you need to externalize your doubt. This doesn't mean suppressing it, but rather gaining some distance from it so that it is separate from who you fundamentally are. Recognize it for the imaginary or insignificant concern that it is. When you do, you will find that it immediately loses some of its power over you.

Next, you need to soothe and calm the fear that has been stirred up by that doubt. Now that you have gained some distance from it, you can approach this just as you would approach soothing and calming a child or a friend. Sit with your fear, and gently, purposefully relax with it. Validate it, but don't succumb to it.

Finally, when those emotions have settled, you can calmly, deliberately redirect your attention to something more productive or enjoyable. The more often you do this, the more you will reinforce these neural pathways so that you naturally focus on purposeful action rather than dwelling on your doubts.

How hypnosis can help

Overcome Fear You've Done Something Wrong is an audio hypnosis session that will guide you to distance yourself from your obsessive doubts and soothe the associated anxiety.

As you relax and listen repeatedly to your session, you'll notice that you:

  • See your doubts objectively as imaginary and insignificant

  • Can put aside obsessive thoughts to focus on more useful, productive things

  • Are more trusting in yourself and your judgment

  • Feel calmer, more clear-headed, and more confident in general.

"Can hypnosis cure phobias?".

phobias-and-fears.png
kimberley stapleton

The big question is "Can hypnosis cure phobias?".

How long have you been stuck in the prison of fear and anxiety ? Here’s how I can help

Hi I’m Kimberley Stapleton , I have over 35 years experience in Hypnotherapy

That’s me on TV :)

One of the many questions I get asked is “ Can Hypnosis Cure Phobias ? “

I use a mixture of hypnosis, NLP and cognitive behavioural therapy when dealing with fears and phobias. So that we remove the blocks that have been preventing you from living your best life

When the hypnotist you are asking answers with a resounding "yes", the next thought is usually along the lines of "yeah, right".

But you'd be amazed at the high success rate that hypnosis has with phobias.

Top athletes regularly use hypnosis in all areas of their career. One of these areas that they may not be quite as public about is a fear of flying. After all, how can something as common place as flying be something to be afraid of? Surely almost every plane that takes off lands again safely?

Yet fear of flying is a biggie.

Hypnosis to the rescue!

By getting to the core of the fear, hypnosis can turn round the fear of flying and let you face an airport without turning into a quivering wreck.

The same goes for any other fear or phobia you've got.

For instance, if you've been afraid of heights since childhood, you can listen to a hypnosis MP3 and watch the fear melt away. This won't mean that you will lose the natural fear that kicks in when you are about to do something stupid from a height. But it will mean that you can climb a tower or tall building and admire the view, without your knuckles turning white while they are gripping the nearest safe object.

Public speaking is another very common fear. Truth be known, most of the audience probably don't care what you are saying in your presentation.

They're just glad that it's you who drew the short straw rather than them. You can use hypnosis to boost your confidence in public speaking so that you don't break out into a cold sweat the next time you are asked to speak in public.

You’d be amazed what types of phobias people have so .. please don’t think that you can’t talk to me about yours:)

Please contact my staff or myself if you have any questions or to make an initial CONSULTATION.
