How to Build a Gratitude Attitude and be Free Right Now

If there is one place where we should be completely free, then it is in our own mind. We might have limitations in terms of what our bodies are capable of and what we’re allowed to do – but our minds should be free to roam wherever we want them to.

Unfortunately, this is not the reality most of us live in. Instead, our thoughts are dictated by our circumstances and those circumstances are largely out of our control. This is why we will often find ourselves feeling dissatisfied and constantly wanting to push forward, rather than stopping to enjoy life and smell the roses.

And without meaning to get political or philosophical, our capitalist lifestyles only reinforce this nature and try to push us faster.

Are You Happy?

Most of us are constantly in a position of slight dissatisfaction. We feel as though there’s ‘one thing’ that could make our lives better and help us to be happier. Maybe we wish we had just a little bit more money, or maybe we wish we had a bigger house. Maybe we want a better job?

Partly this will be encouraged by the media and by the material goods that we want. We want more money so we can play the latest game, wear the latest clothes and post pictures of ourselves on holiday to show to friends.

And we keep working harder and stressing more to try and accomplish these things – in turn keeping the cogs of society spinning.

Making a Change

But now take a think about that game you find yourself wanting. Aren’t there computer games on your shelf right now that you haven’t played yet? Aren’t there free games you could download today and have just as much fun with? Isn’t it just marketing that is pushing you towards that next game and that next expense?

Likewise, ask yourself if having more money would really make you happier. You can travel very cheaply right now – the problem is probably more with leaving work. More responsibility isn’t going to help that!

So how do you make a change and start to be freer and happier right now? The answer is that you change your focus. Instead of fixating on what you don’t have and on what you want, instead start to fixate on what you already have and what you’re grateful for. This is called a ‘gratitude attitude’ and it’s the fastest route to having a satisfying and happy life.

How to be More Independent

If you want to be more confident, then you also need to be more independent.

After all, self-confidence is all about having faith in your own ability and your own decisions. If you don’t know how to be alone, or don’t feel you can do things without the help of others, then you won’t have true confidence!

The problem is that many of us struggle to be alone, or to do things for ourselves. Part of this comes down to a sheer lack of practice. If you went straight from living with your parents, to living with a partner, then you may never have truly experienced fending for yourself. And living with friends isn’t necessarily much different.

Likewise, some of us will spend all of our spare time with others, to the point that we don’t have much identity or much purpose when left to our own devices. If you can’t stand the thought of spending an evening alone, then you need a quick boost in independence. So how do you get it?

Practice

The first way to be more independent is… to practice!

One of the best ways to do this is to drop yourself in at the deep end as it were. That means packing a bag and heading off on a trip alone for a couple of weeks. The more of an adventure this is, the better. So that might mean backpacking and talking to strangers, or it might meaning travelling somewhere where no-one speaks the language.

It might just surprise you what you’re capable of when left to your own devices!

Another way to practice is just to avoid the temptation to call for help the next time something goes wrong. DIY is a great place to experiment with this. Has the toilet stopped flushing? Do you have a hole in the wall that looks unsightly? Instead of calling for help, bring up YouTube and try to sort it yourself. This is hugely empowering and can do wonders for your esteem, as well as making you far less dependent on others.

Find Your Identity

Simply spending a little time alone is also a good idea. Even if you live with a partner, try too spend time apart just to pursue your own interests.

Finding a hobby is actually one of the most important things you can do to boost your independence, as this way you’ll always have something to entertain your thoughts.

Lack of focus kills your motivation

It’s very important to understand if you are trying to achieve anything with your life, that you have it you know. You really do. I know this sounds like a pep talk, but it isn’t. It’s just a statement of fact. All of us are capable of achieving something called “a state of flow.”

You may not label it as such, but you have achieved at least at some point in your life, a mental and emotional state where things come easily. I’m not talking about you just sitting back and thinking that you have an easy life and that you have figured everything out. No, I am not talking about that. This is not something that just happens in your head. This is actually real. How come?

Well, it actually impacts your behaviour. When you achieve a state of flow, you work in such a way that things become quick, easy and effortless. Things just fall into place and it seems like regardless of what you do, when you make a move, things happen. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you were able to do this with almost everything in your life?

Well, I can tell you that habitually successful people trigger a state of flow in almost everything they do. That is why they are able to achieve what they are able to do. For the rest of humanity, people have to struggle with the proper motivations to get that state of flow. In fact, a lot of people are really clueless about this mental and emotional state.

This really is too bad because we all have it in us and the only way to trigger this state is motivation. Motivation enables you to keep doing despite the fact that there are people around you telling you that it cannot be done. Motivation is what you need to keep pushing when it seems that the only thing you are able to achieve is failure, disappointment and heartbreak.

Motivation is crucial to achieving that state of flow. Once you get there, you can trigger a state of momentum where you are able to maintain that state for an extended period time. However, you have to get there first and this means motivation.

The problem is, most people allow the small stuff of life, like deadlines, lots of duties, responsibilities and obligations that seem to pop out of nowhere, to kill their focus. If you don’t have focus, it kills your motivation because you’re basically just scatter brained. You’re basically trying to put Band-Aids on everything trying to prevent some sort of crisis.

That is what you’re doing. You’re not looking at the big things in life. You’re not allowing yourself to be driven forward by your focus in life. You’re not doing any of that. Instead, you’re just trying to focus on the small things. You’re too obsessed about the things right in front of your nose that you lose focus.

Goal Setting To Live A Life Of Freedom

Why Having Absolute Belief In Your Goal Is Necessary

When someone succeeds in life, people often ask, how did you do it? Its the same old question from everyone aspiring to achieve something to everyone who already did it. Some would tell you its luck or hard work but when you listen to them closely, you’ll hear their enthusiasm about their dreams. I can hear you whisper in your mind right now, so what?

These people believed in their dreams; they believed their dreams were not too much for them to reach or too weird to even propose to others. They believed in themselves and the goals they made and thats how they did it. Let me give you some reasons why having faith in your goal has a great impact in achieving it.

💕1. If you don’t, who else will?

You will have to start believing in your aspirations before anybody else will. Who would want to believe you if you yourself doubt your ideas? People will admire you and your pursuit when they see the sincerity in your confidence towards your dream. You’re responsible and obligated to believe in your goals before anyone else because that’s the only way you will find means to achieve them.

💕2. You are building your self-esteem.

There will be thousands of obstacles along the path when you decide to pursue your dream. Sometimes, these challenges will break you but you just have to keep going because its all part of the process. If you have enough confidence in your goals, you also have the same belief that you can surpass them all.

💕3. You mould yourself into positivity.

You, of all people, should know that a little bit of negativity will bring you and your goals down. If you really want to succeed in whatever you are aspiring to have or to become, you need to remain optimistic all the time. And that is not possible if you lack faith in your goals. You will have to keep the enthusiasm you had the first time the idea came into your mind to keep yourself surrounded with positivity.

💕4. You are ready to fail.

This is not intended to take your hope away from you. You will have to face the fact that failures are waiting along the way. They are there to make you stronger and to equip you to become the person you need to be when success is within your reach. If you don’t have enough faith in what you are pursuing, you will most likely get discouraged. But if you know the potential of your goals, you will not be fragile enough to break easily when discouragement comes.

Lastly, isn’t it nice to know how to answer the same old question, how did you do it? When that time comes, it will be your turn to inspire others.

💕5. How To Stick To Your Goal - The Most Difficult Step

💖Setting goals is the first step your living the dream. It is vital to achieving what you have always desired to have or desired to be. Although setting goals help paint a clearer picture of your future, it only keeps you motivated for so long. You may get bored after some time, and eventually completely lose your way around. If you want to be successful, that is something you should avoid. Here are a few tips so you won’t steer away from the goals you’ve always wanted to pursue.

💖Identify your goals. First, be clear about what you really want. Do not settle with others opinion about what you want to achieve. What matters here is what you want to do in life, and if it motivates you to become successful. By all means, stop listening to others who don’t really know what you desire, and start planning out your dream.

💖Break the goal into pieces. Some of your goals may look too big and impossible to accomplish and thats another reason why you might your eyes off your goals. When it already seems too impossible, analyse your goal piece by piece. See what you can do about it; sometimes, you just need to reset.

💖Get organised. This part is actually self-explanatory but often neglected. I assume you have already chosen the top priorities on your list of goals. If you ever feel lost in the whirl of your responsibilities, grab a free app where you can look back to your original purpose with your goal. Apps like Google Docs or Evernote are really helpful.

💖Get an accountability partner. You know who to talk to when all else fails. Yes, that person can be your accountability partner in setting and realising your goals. Telling someone about your goals will help remind you of what you need to do to get towards your dreams. That person will also remind you to work hard and motivate you to get back up when you feel discouraged.

💖Avoid toxic energy. Toxic energy can be found everywhere from people around you, your work, your environment, or even a Facebook post that stressed you out. You can always choose to ignore them. Remember the 90/10 principle by Stephen Covey. It states that 10% of life is made up of what happens to you, and 90% of life is decided by how you react. Whenever you perceive anything toxic coming your way, avoid them as soon as possible.

💖Holding on to your goal can be very challenging; however, that is the only way for you to see your dreams unfold in front of you, one after another.

One Day to Combat Stress

Feeling as though life is getting on top of you? Don’t worry! That’s quite a normal way to feel and according to the statistics, actually a great proportion of us have these feelings a lot of the time.

However, the good news is that you can overcome this stress if you’re willing to just take a break. The problem that many people don’t realise, is that they’re often actually addicted to stress. They don’t like being stressed but at the same time, they can’t help it.

You know that you’re addicted to stress if you find yourself constantly staying late at work, constantly taking on more jobs and feeling awkward or bored when you try relaxing. Sound familiar? If only you would take a break and make it a real break, then you could probably overcome that stress.

Why?

Because you could use that one day to put your life in order and to close all your ‘open loops’.

Low Level Stress

While most of us have a few ‘big sources’ of stress, we should be able to cope with these if we could just focus on them. For instance, many of us are stressed by work or by our relationships – but this is still just ‘one source’ of stress and as such should not be crippling.

The problem is that we often have so many other additional sources of stress along with those big ones. For instance, many of us will have calls we need to make, people we need to e-mail and tidying to do. Often we have bills that need paying, admin that needs doing, clothes we need to buy for upcoming events…

The point is, most of us have a huge list of things we need to be doing and this is what makes it so hard for us to cope with the bigger things. This is what makes it feel like we’re filled to brim and like we just can’t manage with everything that’s going on.

These smaller things don’t get done either because we’re tired, because we’re stressed and because our spare time is taken up with those few ‘big’ things.

And this is where the ‘one day’ comes in. Take one day off of work, on your own, and dedicate it to getting everything else straight. That means tidying the house, it means catching up on correspondence, it means sorting out admin – it means doing all those small things that are causing you stress.

Do this, and suddenly life becomes much easier!

Because to truly remember someone is a great act of appreciation and respect, and to continue truly living your life can be an act of respectful remembrance.

It’s a myth that winners don’t require any motivational or confidence tips. They require good self-assurance tips frequently to keep up their motivational level. From the time you get your confidence tips make sure you apply them in order to transform the existing quality of life.

Confidence is necessary to achieve success in life. Some effective confidence tips must be followed if you genuinely want to gain accomplishment in your work. So how do you build your confidence that will work for you in any situation? Initially, make an effort to spend time with confident people.

Their vigor and strength is so stirring that you will surely feel yourself more powerful just by listening to their talk. To build confidence it is vital that you are in the midst of self-assuring people. This will help you derive great confidence from them. All you have to do is ask them for good confidence tips. Secondly, make sure that you find a mentor.

All successful people have mentors in life, those who can efficiently guide you, advise you and also offer some confidence tips. The person can help you considerably and you can taste success more quickly than you ever imagined. Two minds are always better than one. Try to understand that confidence is just a feeling.

Think about all the situations where you have felt confident. Such positive thoughts can make you confident in future. Sit down for a few minutes everyday and analyse the happenings during your day. Imagine all the things that make you feel certain. This can boost your morale and make you even more poise.

List all your reasons to be confident.

Try and list all the qualities that have helped you to be confident today. Include your victories, skills and also mention about your goals. After you have done this you will see how powerful your analysis can be. It will make you feel even more confident. The most important confidence tip can be preparation. Continuous preparation makes you perfect and you attain confidence.

Have you ever watched a sportsman playing effortlessly or stars performing live on stage? How do they give such a flawless performance? Preparation makes you more and more perfect. It is necessary that you keep honing your skills to achieve perfection and this automatically will augment your level of confidence.

Self-comparison is another key to enhance your confidence. Learn to compare your progress in life with respect to your previous results. Look at other successful people and learn not to measure just your success. When you put in more efforts on the daily improvement of your individual skills and capabilities you can grow very rapidly and your confidence will surge.

Confidence without capability is a perilous combination. It is necessary that you only engage in self-comparison when you are assessing your development. By doing this you will make it easier when the going gets rough and your proficiency will grow day-by-day.
